Description
A shackle is the simplest lock a sailor trusts. A bow of metal, a pin threaded through it, nothing that springs or snaps.
Ours is 316L stainless, the marine grade that boat fittings and watch cases are made from, polished until the edges sit flat against the cord. The cord is a double strand of marine line, the kind made to hold a sail in salt and sun. It dries in an hour and keeps its color.
Put it on once, thread the pin, and forget about it. It is made for the shower, the sea, and the years in between.
Materials and care
- 316L stainless shackle and pin. It does not rust or tarnish.
- Rinse with fresh water after the sea or a pool. Let the cord dry open.
- Keep perfume and sunscreen off the cord; both can stain it.
- The pin threads clockwise. Finger-tight is enough. A spare pin is in the box.

Wrap a strip of paper around your wrist just above the bone, mark where it meets, and measure it.

Before you buy
Will it rust or tarnish?
No. 316L is the stainless grade used for boat fittings and watch cases. Salt water, sweat and showers do not mark it. Rinse it after the sea so the cord stays fresh.
Can I swim in it?
Yes. The cord is made for salt water and dries in about an hour. Rinse it in fresh water afterwards and let it dry open.
How do I know my size?

How does the pin work?
The pin threads into the shackle. Unscrew it, pass the cord loop over the bow, and screw it back finger-tight. It takes about ten seconds and it will not open on its own. A spare pin is in the box.
What does made to order mean?
Some sizes and cords are made after you order. The date on the size chip is the day yours ships, tracked and free in the US. You can cancel any time before that day for a full refund.
